Meet the Team

Ed Wilder employee photoEdward D. Wilder
Managing Director/Investments

Choosing the right investment approach can be stressful.  With so many choices and philosophies, it is usually only in hindsight when we realize which one worked.  For the past 15 years, Ed has personally helped his clients manage their “nest eggs” – the assets they are counting on to fund a defined lifetime income stream, or for some, a legacy with multi-generational financial impact.  Whether it is providing business services, education funding, 529 plans, estate planning strategies, insurance services, IRAs, or retirement planning strategies, Ed has the extensive resources and experience to serve his clients' vast and complex financial needs.

Ed's goal is to help his clients thrive financially by identifying their goals and developing a tailored investment plan designed to help them pursue those goals.  This plan is then fueled using well-researched, individual stock investments that adhere to an objective, non-predictive, unemotional, and disciplined process.

The core of Ed's philosophy is:

  • Focusing on equities – being a shareholder of a diversified portfolio of public companies can be a smart way to help build wealth and maintain purchasing power

  • Mitigating investor behavior, as it is a critical driver toward investor success

  • Striving to directly own shares in companies rather than investment products

  • Having a reasonable, objective, non-emotional approach to help mitigate risk

  • Knowing and understanding what you own

  • Employing both fundamental analysis, which addresses “what to buy,” and technical analysis, which addresses “when to buy,” and just as important, “when to sell”

Ed has been a Financial Advisor with Citi-Smith Barney (now Morgan Stanley) and Wells Fargo Advisors and joined Stifel in 2020 as a Managing Director/Investments.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Government from the University of Puget Sound and was trained by Dorsey Wright & Associates in Technical Analysis.  He holds Series 7, 31, 63, and 65 securities licenses.

When not working, he is passionate about experiencing the Pacific Northwest waters cruising and racing his Tartan sailboat.  He is a lifelong learner who enjoys reading about history and the markets, golfing, and traveling with his family.  He just celebrated his 27th anniversary to his wife, Annette, and he is looking forward to his daughter completing her senior year at Santa Clara University. Ed is active at Holy Family Parish in Kirkland. He served as a member of the University of Puget Sound Executive Alumni Council and Emerald City Rotary Club for 17 years.
